Sala 86

During my short work trip to Lisbon early February, I couldn’t help myself to stop by at @86__sala alongside @marciasofiams to shoot some content and portraits of her and the beautiful @luisasousavieira.

The biggest challenge to shoot in a studio will always be the constant avoidance to repeat what you see. However, these simple environments allow us to carefully craft a composition that will out-stand the best of our subject. If the light is in our favour, we play with it. If not, we don’t need to be afraid of the dark. And if you’re a sucker for film like me, let that be your canvas. It is better to have a strong remarkable single portrait, than a group of 10 for the sake of “sharing content”.

Sala 86 is truly a rising star among the Lisbon based studios for its simplicity mixed with intemporal interior design pieces that we all love. Those drops of details around the space makes it easier for photographers and any creative to explore angles and ideas for a better final result. And yes, that beautiful light speaks for itself, correct?

Hope you like these as much as me.
Once again, thank you Márcia and Luísa for your amazing job in front of the camera.
